Verdict

Pros: Stylish design; comfortable; quiet
Cons: Not wireless; USB1.1 hub, not USB2
Overall: The Enermax Aurora is one of the most stylish keyboards we've seen and definitely worth the asking price

A keyboard is a keyboard is a keyboard, right? Normally, the answer would be yes, but the Aurora from Enermax is a little bit special.

Well known for making power supplies, Enermax has turned its attention to another everyday item that people take for granted and produced something that looks and feels just right.

The first thing you notice about the Aurora, apart from the stunning finish, is its 1.3kg weight; this is no lightweight keyboard that slides all over the desk.

The top of the keyboard has a black, brushed-aluminium finish, while the edges are diamond cut.

Rubber feet keep the keyboard from sliding about. You also get a USB1.1 hub with two ports along with headphone and microphone audio ports.

Due to its low profile the Aurora looks small, but is in fact a standard-sized keyboard. Thanks to the 'scissor' design underneath each key, typing on the Aurora feels responsive and is surprisingly quiet.

At £58, it costs a fair bit more than standard keyboards, and you don't get the luxury of a wireless design, but it's a joy to use and simply oozes style.
