A UBS banker is to plead guilty in a US tax fraud inquiry, US papers
reported.
Bradley Birkenfeld, formerly a senior private banker with the Swiss bank, is
to offer a 'confession' according to court documents cited by the
New
York Times.
He has been accused of helping a property developer evade taxes on $200m
(£100m) held in accounts in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
He had initially pleaded not guilty.
The paper also said that the confession would implicate others at the bank
and other financial institutions.
