Verdict

USP - A small and light ultra mobile PC that looks and performs better than some of its rivals.

The MSI Wind is around the same size as the Asus Eee PC 900 and has the same pearlescent case, but this is where the similarities end.

The main difference is the keyboard: the Wind’s chassis is large enough to accommodate a larger keyboard that is easier to type on.

The trackpad, however, is much smaller than average. But even so, it is accurate and responsive.

The Wind’s 10in matte LCD display (1,024x600 pixels) is bright with few reflections.

The screen is surrounded by a thick bezel, which houses a good quality web cam and a microphone, so the Wind can be used for Skype calls.

Battery life is around five hours on a single charge plus at 1kg it is ideal for travellers.

The Wind poses a serious threat to the Eee PC, with the keyboard a joy to use and a fantastic screen. It also looks the part, making it an excellent choice.
