The accountancy world is undecided as to whether the 2012 London Olympics
will provide a boost for UK business

As the Beijing Olympics closed, a poll of Accountancy Age readers
revealed evenly-split results between those who believe the Olympic games will
be a boost and those that do not.
The budget for the 2012 games has been set at £9bn, though it is impossible
to find estimates of how much business might benefit from hosting the games.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that
Deloitte,
an official supporter of the 2012 games, will be contributing up to £20m in cash
and services to the organisers of the London Olympics. The figure is the minimum
amount required to qualify as a second-tier sponsor.
