Roger Taylor named as chief executive of joint venture between Carphone

Carphone Warehouse's finance chief has been picked to head up a £1.1bn retail
division.
Roger Taylor will take executive control of a joint venture between Carphone
Warehouse and US electricals giant Best Buys. The stateside company has stumped
up the cash to secure a 50% stake in the UK company.
The deal will see Carphone Warehouse put its retail arm including its 2,400
stores, insurance and mobile phone business into the joint venture while keeping
hold of its fixed line telephone and broadband operation.
