Grant Thornton has joined forces with the
Carbon Trust to offer corporate
finance advice to start-up environmental businesses.
The Carbon Trust's incubator scheme gives start-ups that have a commercial
low carbon business plan the opportunity to meet with Grant Thornton, as well as
law firm Mills & Reeve, to work out a business strategy.
Dr Simon Crook, clean technology corporate finance manager at Grant Thornton,
said: 'We're delighted to have been selected to work with the Carbon Trust
incubator companies. We believe our considerable sector experience, breadth of
business expertise and international reach will make a real difference to these
exciting low carbon businesses. We look forward to working with this select
group of dynamic companies as they grow and make a positive impact on the
environment.'
The scheme offers low carbon businesses £60,000 of support on a 12- to
18-month basis.
