More than 2,200 small businesses have asked the taxman for more time to pay
their tax bills.
The claims to relieve pressure on the businesses follows chancellor Alistair
Darling's pledge in the pre-Budget report that HM Revenue & Customs would
look to ease terms in light of the economic crisis.
Some of the companies have been given several months to pay off their bills,
reported the Daily Telegraph.
