The Midlands Co-op
is introducing software to combine the payroll of 8,000 employees across 402
shops and 5,000 pensioners into one system.
The Co-operative Society of retail businesses launched an integrated system
to deliver streamlined processes across the company and reduce duplication.
Head of IT Mark Ruttley says the Midlands Co-op is the second largest
independent retailer in the Midlands and the third largest co-operative in the
UK, making it vital that all outlets operate on a single system.
‘This will reduce administration and improve the quality of management
information on overtime, productivity, absenteeism and staff turnover for all
managers,’ he said.
The retailer is using Trent software from
MidlandHR.
The payroll system was launched at the end of last year the implementation of a
human resources management system is to begin in March this year.
