Semaw, who has been wheelchair-bound since he was one, runs a roadside DVD
rental business near Addis Ababa. Last October, he set up The Wheelchair
Association of Ethiopia to help local people with disabilities to find
education, and to campaign for the donation of free wheelchairs.
The PC, a refurbished system previously owned by the National Gallery in
London, will be used to write to the government and potential donors, says
Semaw.
The equipment was presented last month by Computer Aid founder Tony Roberts
and East Africa programme officer Benjamin Makai.
