Software as a service (SaaS) specialist
Salesforce.com reported record second
quarter revenue of $263m (£141m), up 49 per cent on the same period last year.
Revenue from customer subscription fees and support contracts for
Salesforce.com’s on-demand customer relationship management (CRM) software was
up 50 per cent to $239.7m, though only six per cent on the previous quarter.
Quarterly revenue from professional services and other parts of the business
yielded $23.4m, 41 per cent up year on year.
Earlier this week, the company announced it has completed the acquisition of
knowledge management software firm
InStranet for $31.5m, which
Salesforce.com will use to improve the performance of its automated customer
callcentres.
