Deloitte's strong performance from its consulting division has helped push the firm on with a positive set of interim figures.

It reported consulting growth of 4.8% compared to the same period last year, to £151.5m. The firm's total interim fee revenue was £649m, up 8.8% on last year's figure of £597.4m.
John Connolly, senior partner and chief executive, said: 'Our consulting business is in great shape, and our firm benefits significantly from the decision to retain consulting. Our strongest performing business was our actuarial consulting practice.'
