LogicaCMG backs Wales for outsourcing success

A blend of onshore and offshore services is the key driver to the growth of LogicaCMG, according to the firm, as it announced the opening of its UK outsourcing headquarters in Bridgend in Wales earlier today. Marking the success of a multimillion-pound expansion programme, the new Waterton premises will manage some of its largest contracts and create 750 jobs by 2007. In a statement the firm said the Welsh expansion would provide it with 'greater scale to support the increased demand from customers for outsourced solutions'. It said that it would underpin its strategy to provide clients with a unique 'hybrid' outsourcing portfolio that would offer a blend of onshore/offshore services. Jim McKenna, group chief operating officer, LogicaCMG, said: 'Outsourcing currently comprises 39% of UK revenues for 2004 and this will continue to grow in 2005 to meet customer demand, with our Welsh operations playing a key role.' Over the past four years, the company has increased its customer base being serviced from its Welsh operations from 31 to 120. Clients that are already being serviced from the new offices include Thames Water, Ofcom, Dyr Cymru (Welsh Water), United Utilities, Britannia Airways and the British Council.
